Boat Cruises around Cork

cork activities

We could take a boat cruises around the beautiful County of Cork. The cruise lasts approximately one hour and departs from Knightstown pier and Reenard Pier. This is a great way to see Cork peninsula, passing Valentia Lighthouse, Dolous Head and it’s beautiful Rock formations out towards Wireless point and the spot where the Tretrapod came asshore millions of years ago. Advance booking is advisable from Flynn Travel and all cruises are subject to weather conditions.

Take a Dive

There are also two dive boats which cater for different types of dive trip. An 8.5m Humber RIB with inboard diesel engine is licensed to carry 12 divers. However, for comfort we prefer to take just 8-10 divers out in the RIB. It is equipped with VHF radio, sounder and oxygen and is used for dive sites within a 20 minute boat trip from the dive center. This boat usually leaves for dives at 10 am and 2:30 pm – with an evening dive arranged at 6:30 pm for those who want it.

The purpose built, Lochin 40 is approved by the Department of Marine and used for day trips to more distant dive sites, leaving the harbor at around 10:30 am and returning by 5:00 pm after two dives. It is comfortably equipped with cabin seating for 12 divers, a dive platform, toilet and hot shower, hot drinks, VHF video, radar, sounder, GPS/plotter and oxygen. This boat makes dive-sites like the Skelligs, the Puffin and the wreck of the Manchester easily accessible.
